Why to Bead?
Beading, or jewelry making is a great and creative hobby that anyone can enjoy, and although many many people have taken up this past time, I am still often asked by my friends and coworkers why I enjoy it so much. Maybe they notice all the fine and unique jewelry that I wear every day, or maybe they’ve seen all the “I heart Beading” bumper stickers on my car. I hope it’s the first one.
There are several reasons to enjoy beading and the first one is to have a creative outlet. The desire to create has been instinctive in the human species ever since cave men drew pictures of themselves and animals on the walls. In fact, it wasn’t much later that the we started making jewelry by beading. Archeologists have discovered beaded jewelry in some of the oldest ruins ever uncovered.
Having a creative outlet is a big time stress reliever. Since most stress in today’s world comes from the workplace I like to keep it there when I go home. I don’t want to be in a bad mood when I get home to my husband and kids. Beading helps me de-stress after a stressful day at the office.
Another reason beading makes an excellent hobby is that it gives you something you can use. Have you ever bought a dress or other outfit and looked at your accessories and thought you had nothing to wear with it? That happens to me all the time. With beading, you can make a perfect bracelet or necklace to go with the look you want, and you can make it match perfectly. There’s lots of jewelry out there that “goes” with some of your outfits, but it’s rare to find jewelry that matches it perfectly!
Beading books can be found on Internet.
On top of it matching perfectly, the beaded jewelry you make is one hundred percent unique. No one will have a piece that matches yours perfectly (unless you followed someone else’s pattern and instructions, but still then only very few people will have that exact piece). So the beaded jewelry you wear will match your outfit perfectly and it will be unique!
On top of that, beaded jewelry is beautiful. With the right beads and the right patterns, I prefer my beaded jewelry over the “professionally” made stuff at the store. In fact, some of my friends and coworkers ask me where I bought my jewelry all the time.
That brings us to our final reason beading is such a great hobby to have. Gratification. It is really gratifying when someone asks you the name of the high end jewelry store where you bought your lovely accessories. Then you can tell them you made it. They probably won’t believe you, but it doesn’t matter. They may want to inspect the piece further. Go ahead, let them! Explain how you bead jewelry like that all the time, and they will be amazed.
There are other hobbies out there, sure, but I don’t think there are many that combine all of these great reasons to do it. So, if you’ve never beaded in your life, give beading a try. If you’ve beaded before, keep making that beautiful, unique jewelry.

Complete Bead Guide
Every so often we come across something we just need to share. I have been beading for a long time and am mostly self-taught. I am no master, or even expert, but I am happy where I am right now. When learning to bead, I never really used guides or patterns but simply made up as I went along once I learned a new stitch.
My progress with beading was very slow, to say the least, but like I said, I am happy with where I am. Now that I have more time during the day to devote to my craft, my beading hobby is getting to be a little more serious than it used to be.
That’s why I decided I should learn how I should be beading. Sure, I’ve mastered a couple stitches over the years and can make simple necklaces or bracelets, but I wanted to devote myself to beading and make designs that really pop. I want the products of my beading to make people say “Wow” and ask what store I bought them at.
Lo and behold, I ran across this ebook on the internet that has kicked my beading into high gear. I’ve even reserved a booth at our local crafts expo next year. I’m really excited about it, but this ebook is what has brought my beading to the next level. Its called The Complete Bead Guide.
I have learned tons of new stitches and techniques for beading, how to identify sizes and types of beads just by looking at them, and even how to make a crochet beaded rope necklace. I never thought I would be able to do any of those things. Beading had always been some weird little hobby I did when I had spare time, now I’m starting to feel like a professional craftswoman.
So if you’re like I was, I really have to recommend this guide to you. If you want to get serious about beading and dream of one day entering your work to tradeshows or crafts fairs, then I cannot think of a reason you should hesitate to pick up the Complete Bead Guide. It’s changed my beading into something that I enjoy beyond anything else! Happy Beading!
